KNIFE ZONE
Collectors, users, connoisseurs and friends of the important companion for the hunter will find various exhibits from traditional to modern at the new special exhibition on hunting knives. The new knife area is supported by the German Blade Museum in Solingen, which is known for its exhibitions on edged weapons and their use throughout history. Accompanying the exhibition, the programme includes panel discussions on legal issues, knife care and the "perfect knife steel". In addition, those interested in high-quality blades can also meet suppliers and experts of hunting knives here.
JAGDWELT: Shopping on over 3,000 m2
JAGD & HUND, together with the hunting outfitter Jagdwelt24, presents visitors to Europe's largest hunting trade fair with a modern and extensive product range and an extraordinary shopping experience. In the new "Jagdwelt" area, technical products and innovations can not only be inspected at will, but also tried out - with all the senses. For example, there will be a test course for shoes with various floor coverings and various targets for visual tests. Open-air kitchens will provide exceptional culinary experiences. Here, masters of their trade will conjure up delicacies for tasting, fortifying and savouring in small, sociable groups. WILD FOOD FESTIVAL: 100% enjoyment

Would you like to know how game can be prepared quickly, easily, versatile and tasty or would you just like to try out and enjoy some delicious preparations? Then the WILD FOOD FESTIVAL is worth a visit.
Culinary cuisine and venison preparation have long played a special role at JAGD & HUND and have enjoyed increasing popularity over the years. In order to meet demand, the WILD FOOD FESTIVAL has a separate area dedicated to the topic of venison with a program around shows, food and expo.
A wide range of products with delicious food and drinks as well as practical cooking equipment awaits you at the festival. In addition, well-known TV and top chefs will show you how to perfectly prepare game dishes in one of the numerous live cooking shows or in a very personal workshop.

As a co-founder of this trade fair, the Jagdnutzhundverband e.V. (JGHV) has always been part of JAGD & HUND. Find out everything about the fascinating world of hunting dogs as well as their characteristics, their training and their indispensable contribution to hunting. Experience interesting demonstrations, talk to experienced dog handlers and find out about the variety of hunting dog breeds.
ORDEN DEUTSCHER FALKONIERE (ODF): Birds of prey close up
Immerse yourself in the world of birds of prey and experience breathtaking bird of prey shows that will delight you. The Order of German Falconers presents its impressive expertise in bird of prey science at this trade fair and shows you the beauty and elegance of these majestic animals.
The exhibition stand of the Order of German Falconers will be a real attraction for all hunting and nature enthusiasts. Here you have the unique opportunity to learn about the art of falconry from experienced falconers and to take a look behind the scenes of this traditional hunting method. Feel the power and stability as the vehicles overcome obstacles, climb steep inclines and tackle difficult descents. Our off-road vehicle course offers you the unique opportunity to experience new and attractive off-road vehicles from renowned brands up close and live and to put them through their paces.
Discover the diversity of the off-road vehicle world and gain insights into the latest technological innovations and developments. Our 4x4 area is the perfect place to see the off-road vehicles in action, convince yourself of their performance and talk to the right providers.
HORRIDO: SOCIAL MEDIA AREA
New media and social media have also arrived in the hunting community and are becoming increasingly important. Hunters want to share their hunting experiences, show the entire spectrum of hunting and network with like-minded people. The hunting community is constantly growing and becoming increasingly dynamic.
A particular focus is on the younger generation, who are increasingly enthusiastic about hunting. Together with our partners Hunt on Demand and Geartester, we have developed the social media area HORRIDO. HORRIDO is a meeting place for young hunters who want to discover and deepen their passion for hunting. In the special area you have the unique opportunity to meet hunting influencers in person and exchange ideas with them. They share their stories, provide insights into their hunting experiences and are available to answer questions.
HORRIDO that is: exciting lectures, product demonstrations, high-quality content and an extraordinary exchange of experiences.
GERMAN DEER CALLING CHAMPIONSHIP
This competition is an absolute highlight for hunters and nature lovers from all over the country: On the Friday of JAGD & HUND, Messe Dortmund is presenting the best deer callers from all over Germany together with WILD UND HUND - the leading German-language hunting magazine in Europe.
The German Deer Calling Championship attracts experienced deer callers and aspiring talents alike. Here participants have the unique opportunity to showcase their skills and demonstrate their deer calling skills. The competition honors Germany's traditional hunting history and demonstrates in a fascinating way the art of imitating the natural calls of deer and other wild animals.
The art of “calling the deer” is a sophisticated hunting craft and, as the “high school” of luring and calling hunting, is part of a centuries-long tradition. The aim is, during the red deer's rutting season, in September to the beginning of October, to give the top dog the impression of a rival on the rutting ground so that he accepts it and comes out of cover. This gives the hunter the chance to better assess the deer.
The vocalizations of a deer are not only very diverse, but they also vary depending on their age, state of mind and the duration of the rut, during which they become increasingly hoarse, as well as the mood of the pack.
Specially prepared ox horns, triton snail shells, glass cylinders, Heracleum tubes (the hollow stems of giant hogweed) and a number of man-made instruments serve as aids to amplify the sound and resonance for the deer caller. Few hunters can survive without one of these tools. It takes years of experience and the ability to observe the behavior and habits of red deer to achieve mastery here.
CALLING CONTEST FOR SMALL GAME
Lure hunting is an incredibly challenging, exciting and active form of hunting. This is because you can make a significant contribution to the success of the hunt yourself. Against the backdrop of increasing stocking numbers and game damage, it plays a particularly important role in the hunting of geese and crows. It is also indispensable when hunting foxes - in terms of small game management. The right equipment such as camouflage clothing, camouflage stands and decoy pictures are just as important as the correct use of decoys. But playing the decoys needs to be learned, it is easy to get the tone wrong and the hoped-for hunting success does not materialize.
In order to further emphasize the importance of decoy hunting, the hunting store OVIS, JAGD & HUND and the hunting magazine unsere Jagd will be holding a game decoy competition in the disciplines of greylag goose, crow and fox at Europe's largest hunting exhibition.
The wide variety of different decoy calls requires a great deal of skill from the participants. A jury of renowned hunters will evaluate the participants' decoy calls. The first three winners will receive high-quality prizes. All participants have free entry to the fair..
"KITZFIEP"-WORLD CHAMPIONSCHIP
This year, young friends of decoy hunting in particular will be offered a lot: At the "Kitzfiep World Championship", children and young people aged 6-16 can show how they can lure roebucks using only their mouths and without any aids. The best ten then compete against each other in front of a jury and there are great prizes up for grabs.

WuH-Kids trade fair rally
The WuH-Kids trade fair rally goes into the 2nd round! At the JAGD & HUND trade fair in Dortmund from 28 January to 2 February, small tasks will once again be waiting for you at various exhibitor stands. Enter their solutions on the entry form and drop it into the large prize draw box at the WILD UND HUND stand in Hall 4 at the end of the fair. You could win some great prizes again, which we will be giving away after the fair. MEETING POINT FOR ANGLERS
It's all about fishing here. Whether you are an expert, a beginner or someone interested, at FISCH & ANGEL you can exchange ideas, find out more and receive further training. Exhibiting companies present products and innovations relating to fishing accessories, fishing tackle and fishing clothing. In addition, well-known professional anglers will show you on all days of the trade fair how to increase your fishing success in fresh and salt water. For example, learn everything about the fine art of bait management and exchange ideas with experts on the topics of rod building and fly tying.

Aftermovie 2024
The JAGD & HUND presents a unique shopping and adventure area in the Dortmund exhibition center. Many entertaining highlights make a visit to the fair an event.
This is not exclusively about hunting, but about a much wider range of topics. Above all, the contact between the different groups of hunters, huntresses and young hunters is in the foreground here.
In 2024, the trade fair in Dortmund was exciting again and attracted numerous visitors and international exhibitors.
In addition to the comprehensive range of products from the international exhibitors, the varied supporting program is part of the overall experience at JAGD & HUND.
Examples are the demonstrations of birds of prey and hunting dogs. Around 1,300 dogs show their merits at the Dortmund Exhibition Centre. Almost all hunting dog breeds are represented.
A spectacular off-road vehicle course and hunting fashion shows can also be experienced at JAGD & HUND, Europe's largest hunting exhibition.
JAGD & HUND is becoming increasingly international.
2024, companies from 36 nations presented their offerings at Messe Dortmund.
Among them: well-travelled international exhibitors from Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, the USA and South Africa.
The program items of the fair in Dortmund offer everything that the heart of the hunter and the nature lover desires.
Spectacular competitions are also on the programme: the German Deer Calling Championship or the International German RedFox Award, for example.
JAGD & HUND is also dedicated to nature and species protection.
THE WILD FOOD FESTIVAL
Culinary delights and game preparation have long played a special role at JAGD & HUND and have enjoyed increasing popularity in recent years.
In order to meet the demand, from 2019 an entire hall has been dedicated to the topic of game with the WILD FOOD FESTIVAL. And not just any hall: In the traditional and coveted arena, visitors were offered a programme around show, food and expo throughout the entire trade fair.
In addition to hunters, the fair also attracted fans of good cuisine to the halls and offered them fresh products and ingredients, creative recipe ideas and culinary delicacies as well as an exciting stage program and workshops on the subject of venison with top-class TV, star and top chefs.
