What role does the hunting travel sector play?

Europe's largest hunting fair at the Dortmund Exhibition Centre traditionally offers a comprehensive portfolio of topics relating to hunting. In addition to numerous other topics such as hunting weapons and fashion, equipment or off-road vehicles, hunting trips are an integral part of the industry. Interested international and national visitors to JAGD & HUND can find out about the range of offers from exhibitors of hunting trips from all over the world and plan hunting trips to distant countries, neighboring or other federal states.

Are there any special requirements to be allowed to exhibit at the trade fair?

With JAGD & HUND, Messe Dortmund offers all hunters and nature lovers a platform to exchange ideas with one another. The offer is checked and evaluated with the support of experts and partners with regard to legal framework conditions. Accordingly, no exhibits, services, trips or offers at JAGD & HUND may violate the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, the European Union, legal provisions of the respective travel countries or the Washington Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES). Messe Dortmund expressly draws all exhibitors' attention to this in the admission conditions. The legal norms of the respective travel country are fundamentally decisive for the practice of hunting, just as the rules of German hunting law apply to hunting trips to Germany, for example.

How does the trade fair ensure compliance with all rules and laws?

In addition to the information in the admission conditions, the trade fair company checks compliance with the conditions before and during the entire trade fair. Together with the Dortmund City Environmental Office, the NRW State Hunting Association and proven species protection experts, the Dortmund Trade Fair has been carrying out inspections throughout the JAGD & HUND for many years. This procedure has proven successful. If there are indications of possible violations, company stands are checked again separately. If the exhibition conditions are violated, stands and exhibitors are excluded from participating in the trade fair.

What distinguishes JAGD & HUND from other hunting fairs in terms of hunting trip offers?

JAGD & HUND is considered an international trendsetter and pacesetter for the improvement of species protection and an ethical hunting culture. The requirements for exhibitors are strict and go beyond the national and international laws on hunting, animal, nature and species protection.
